The CCF’s Quarantine Cocktail

(Because it’s made with tea, and that’s healthy right?).



Y’all! Am I the only one who misses bars? I can’t be. There is something so special about sitting on an uncomfortable stool, listening to music that’s too load, drinking something made by someone else, and people watching.


I miss certain times. And I miss going to bars.


In an effort to make myself feel better, I decided to make myself a fancy cocktail, in hopes of recapturing some of those feelings. It may not have worked, but it sure as shit was delicious and I’m gonna teach you how to make it.


Bonus! I used hibiscus tea, which makes it totally healthy! (,,,maybe)



Here is what you need.



-Ice (yeah, that’s an ingredient. Would you prefer your drink be room temp? pffft. Savage).


-3 oz. Hibiscus iced tea.


NOTE: I used Tazo brand Hibiscus passion fruit iced tea.

OTHER NOTE: Hibiscus tea may help with the following:

Lower blood pressure (We all need that right now).


Lower blood fat levels (my fat ass needs that always).


May boost liver health (I mean this is a cocktail, sooooo this is helpful).


May boost weight loss (again my fat ass is happy about this).


Could help fight bacteria (UMMMM in a pandemic how can that be bad???).


Also, gin has been used to help treat arthritis (I mean gin-soaked raisins which sounds gross, but hey whatever).

Of course, I am not saying this drink is going to do any of those things, but a gal can dream right?

(Plus, if I convince myself it’s true, even if its not, I can have as many as I want right??? Just say yes. I need it to be yes).


-Two fingers (an oldey timey way of saying 2-2.5 oz. … more if you have fat fingers… here’s hoping) of your favorite gin. (I used Bombay Sapphire, but Hendricks would be perfect in this).



-1 Lime slice (per drink… obviously, if you are making more than one drink, you do this per glass. I feel like I shouldn’t have to say this, but I am both condescending and a control freak, so deal with it kiddo!).



-1 oz. seltzer (or as I so eloquently call it, FIZZY WATER… and I make everyone I know call it this as well, so you may as well get used to it), to top off the drink.



OK gang, are you ready for this labor intensive, far too complicate list of instructions? (Note the sarcasm).



Away we go!


  • Fill an 8oz. Rocks glass with ice. (bonus points if you’re super fancy and have giant cubes. Extra bonus points if you have ice orbs because those things are the best, and we deserve the best).


  • Pour two fingers of gin (yup Imma keep saying that way and you can’t stop me. It’s simple. Hold two fingers across your glass sideways and pour to the top line. Obviously! Accurate science!).



  • Top with about 3 oz of brewed and chilled hibiscus (Tazo hibiscus passion fruit to be specific) tea.



  • Stir with a spoon or a swizzle stick or your finger (since we’re using them for other parts of the drink, we know you already have them… and if you don’t im sorry… that’s unfortunate…).



  • Top with FIZZY WATER (or seltzer if you’re boring, but just know I’m judging the shit out of you).



  • Add a slice of lime.



Enjoy the healing properties….

At the very least enjoy a relaxing cocktail and try and relax because the world is still a nightmare!
